Virginie’s beauty tips
What’s the secret to flawless makeup? Radiant, natural-looking skin. Follow Virginie’s tips for a uniform, luminous complexion!
Remember these two important words: cream illuminator. Choose the super-practical stick formula you can apply with your fingers. So quick and easy!
Where should I apply illuminator? Apply it to select areas of your face where light is naturally reflected: the top of your cheekbones, above and under your eyebrows, the bridge of your nose, your nostrils, the center of your chin and the heart of your lips.
But you don’t need to apply it to all of those areas! Choose what you want to highlight while keeping in mind these two principles:
If you prefer a brush, keep in mind that it diffuses the illuminator, so you might need to use more to create enough lustre.
Once you’ve applied your illuminator, apply another light coat of foundation. Choose a creamy, slightly translucent product so the two products blend well. The foundation will leave a slight sparkle and will add more moisture and lustre to your skin. This technique gives the impression that the shine is radiating from inside, the secret to making it look natural!
For this step, you’ll need to use a brush. After dabbing a small amount of foundation on the back of your hand, apply a uniform coat to your face, starting at the centre and moving outward. Remember to include your neck so you don’t leave an obvious line, and, of course, use a shade that matches your natural skin tone as much as possible.
For days when you don’t use any illuminator (they happen!), be sure to choose a foundation texture that’s right for your skin type. For dry skin, avoid using powders that give a matte effect. In contrast, rich formulas should be avoided for oily skin.
