Hydrotherapy at home

No need to go to the spa to enjoy the benefits of a hydrotherapy bath. What is hydrotherapy? It's simply using water as a treatment. Warm water has always been used to relax or to soothe muscle aches and menstrual cramps. However, make sure to follow these simple rules to make the most of your bath:

Control the water temperature: it must be between 20° and 37°C, depending on your likes and needs.

To tighten and stimulate blood circulation, use cooler water, i.e., 20°C.

For muscle toning, increase the temperature to 25°C.

However, if you want to relax and allow your muscles to recover after a long day, the ideal temperature is 37°C.

Add bath products: they are essential in helping you relax without drying or damaging your skin. Choose your bath products according to the desired results.

If you want to relax, use bubble bath, sea salt, milk bath or clay.

If you are looking for a toning effect, choose essential oils, toning mousse or Epsom salts, which revitalize and refresh your skin.

A healthy break

Bath time is the perfect occasion for a face and body scrub.

Warm water causes pores to dilate and open up, making it the ideal time to apply a moisturizing mask. Relaxation guaranteed.

Good to know: Use eucalyptus essential oil to clear your respiratory system in case of a cold, lavender essential oil to help you fall asleep, or orange essential oil for a toning effect. For best results, and to prevent skin irritations, combine the essential oils with sweet almond oil before adding it to the tub.

After your bath

Good to know: Given the vasodilator effect of warm water, long baths can cause or worsen migraines, varicose veins and couperose. Very hot baths are not recommended during pregnancy, or for those suffering from hypertension, diabetes or cardiovascular diseases.
