Haistyle: How to create the double bun

Double buns were everywhere at this year’s Coachella. Easy to create, this is a trendy look that reminds us of the hairstyles of our youth. This summer is the perfect time to try out the 2016 version.

To achieve this hairstyle, you’ll need your locks to be slightly dirty if possible. This will add volume to your hair and help it stay in place. You’ll also want to place the two buns as high on your head as possible. This is a daring hairstyle for those who aren’t afraid of being bold.

Start by parting your hair exactly down the middle. This will create two sections, one for each bun. Tie your hair into ponytails on each side of your head. You can use clear elastics if you don’t want them to show.

Once your two ponytails done, use a bit of dry shampoo to add body and make it easier to complete the hairstyle. Let the powder act and tussle your hair. To avoid the “small ears” effect, you’ll need to add texture to both buns. Dry shampoo is great for this.

Then roll your locks around the elastic until it is completely concealed. Use bobby bins to keep your hairstyle in place.

The final touch? A veil of hairspray to tame flyaway hair and frizz.
