Longueuil, June 6, 2014 - The Jean Coutu Group (PJC) Inc. ("the Jean Coutu Group") kicked off today the construction of its future headquarters and distribution center in Varennes. The official ground-breaking ceremony was held this morning on a 3.4 million square feet land located near highway 30.
The contractor MONTONI was granted the construction contract. The new facilities of the Jean Coutu Group will total 883,000 square feet, which is 50% larger than the space currently occupied in Longueuil’s industrial park. The project represents a total investment of 190 million dollars.

The facilities in Varennes will be at the cutting edge of technology guarantying high standards of productivity while ensuring an enjoyable and safe work environment for our employees", highlighted François J. Coutu, President and Chief Executive Officer of the Jean Coutu Group.
The construction begins with the distribution center section while the construction of the headquarters is scheduled to start in August 2014.
