Longueuil, Québec, July 8, 2010 – Mr. Jean Coutu, Chairman of the Board of The Jean Coutu Group (PJC) Inc. (the "Company" or the "Jean Coutu Group") is pleased to announce the election of Mrs. Annie Thabet to the Company’s Board of Directors. Mrs. Thabet has been elected at the General Meeting of Shareholders held last Tuesday, July 6, 2010.
Mrs. Thabet is Partner at Celtis Capital, a firm specialized in transactional services that she co-founded in 2003. She has 28 years of business experience namely in venture capital and private equity investments, mergers, acquisitions and financing transactions, and the management and repositioning of technology and manufacturing companies. Her prior experience includes investment management at Société générale de financement du Québec and consulting at Price Waterhouse.

During this meeting, the shareholders of the Company also renewed the mandates of the following directors. Lise Bastarache, François J. Coutu, Jean Coutu, Marie-Josée Coutu, Michel Coutu, Sylvie Coutu, L. Denis Desautels, Marcel Dutil, Nicolle forget, Robert Lacroix, Yvon Martineau and Dennis Wood.
