Quebec: The environmental handling fees (EHF) are applicable to purchases of aimed products based on the Regulation respecting the recovery and reclamation of products by enterprises. These fees are included in the price of electronics and are given to EPRA-Québec, which utilizes them to finance the integration of its network of official drop-off points throughout the province of Quebec as well as to cover its administrative costs for its program (collect, handling, recycling of electronics). The environmental handling fees are established by EPRA-Québec based on the cost of recycling of each category of products included in the regulation and to ensure its optimal coordination.

Ontario: The environmental handling fees (EHF) are applicable to purchases of aimed products based on the Ontario’s Waste Diversion Act (2002) and the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) Program Plan. These fees are given to Ontario Electronic Stewardship (OES), which utilizes them to finance the integration of its network of official drop-off points throughout the province of Ontario as well as to cover its administrative costs for its program (collect, handling, recycling of electronics). The environmental handling fees are established by OES based on the cost of recycling of each category of products included in the regulation and to ensure its optimal coordination.

New Brunswick: The environmental handling fees (EHF) are applicable to purchases of aimed products based on the Clean Environment Act. These fees are included in the price of electronics and are given to EPRA-New Brunswick, which utilizes them to finance the integration of its network of official drop-off points throughout the province of New-Brunswick as well as to cover its administrative costs for its program (collect, handling, recycling of electronics). The environmental handling fees are established by EPRA-New Brunswick based on the cost of recycling of each category of products included in the regulation and to ensure its optimal coordination.
